Who Can See Forever
Who Can See Forever is a live disc by Iron & Wine that accompanies the concert-documentary film of the same name. Recorded at the Haw River Ballroom in Saxapahaw, North Carolina, this live performance features nineteen songs from singer-songwriter Sam Beam’s twenty-plus year career. Having found inventive ways to reinvent their live catalog over the years, Who Can See Forever offers fresh takes on Iron & Wine songs, including “The Trapeze Swinger,” “Boy With a Coin” and “Naked As We Cam”.
The film – originally planned as a live concert – morphed into a portrait of Sam Beam filmed during a creative phase that earned him four Grammy nominations in the space of four years. Like his music, the film touches on universally personal themes, with Sam juggling his life as an artist, husband and father. Taken together, the soundtrack and film make for a fascinating first look behind the scenes of Iron & Wine.
