The Ghosts Of Sun
With his historic win at the January 2023 International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tennessee, Australian blues artist Frank Sultana joined the 2 other Australian musicians, Fiona Boyes (2003) and Jimi Hocking (2005) as the only 3 artists outside of North America to win the prestigious event in its 39 year history.
Just a few days later, he stepped into the iconic Sun Studio for a 4 hour session. 12 songs were recorded and the result is Franks 14th release , titled The Ghosts of Sun.
A collection of original songs released over his now 13 year career, The Ghosts of Sun is raw, pure delta inspired blues, recorded with just voice, guitar and stomp. On his return to Australia a few weeks later he brought in his now regular harmonica player, Dan Sullivan in, and the rest as they say is history.
