Saturday Night Fever (Deluxe 40th Anniversary Reissue Edition) (Soundtrack)
Deluxe 2CD 40th Anniversary Reissue Edition!
1977 was a banner year for the Bee Gees. Forty years ago, the music the brotherly trio wrote for the phenomenally successful film and its resulting soundtrack of the same name, Saturday Night Fever, set landmarks at the box office and at record retailers everywhere.
Led by four #1 hits from the Bee Gees in a short period, in its day it became the all-time best-selling soundtrack. And its popularity or impact hasn’t ceased. Not to mention that John Travota, in the lead role of the working-class Tony Manero, would watch his career take off like a rocket as a result of this disco-dancing social marvel.
In celebration of that monumental success, a 40th anniversary Super Deluxe Edition is being packaged with the 2LP set and single CD of the original soundtrack; plus, a special bonus CD with four mixes by the very prolific, Grammy-winning mix engineer Serban Ghenea. Along with this is the original film on Blu-Ray and a variety of bonus photo materials and essays by key participants are included.
A 2CD Deluxe version containing the original soundtrack along with the Serban remixes will also be released. New editorial and commentary notes provided by Barry Gibb, Bill Oakes (produce and film consultant), John Balham (SNF director), David Shire (score composer for SNF) and more.
