Sancho
The Whitlams new album Sancho is a worthy addition to their celebrated catalogue, and is their first in 15 years.
Of their six albums so far, five have reached Gold or Platinum status, and two were recently named in the Rolling Stone Top 200 Australian albums of all time (“Love this City” at 101, and “Eternal Nightcap” at 24).
Sancho features the same line up as the last three albums and has the hallmarks of previous classics. It commences in an orchestral and lush fashion, recalling their classic ballads “No Aphrodisiac” and “Blow Up the Pokies”, and develops into a rocking four piece wig out, for which the band is known in its successful live career.
