The American thrashers – part of the big four of Metal have enjoyed an long and enduring career as pioneers of the thrash genre. Since 1983, the band areeleven albums strong and still actively touring and releasing uncompromisingly heavy albums to rapturous fans. Released in 1986 – Reign In Blood was the band’s first collaboration with record producer Rick Rubin, whose input helped the band’s sound evolve. Reign in Blood was well received by both critics and fans, and was responsible for bringing Slayer to the attention of a mainstream metal audience.
