John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band (180gm Vinyl) (Reissue)
John Lennon’s eight solo studio albums reissued and presented on heavyweight, 180gm audiophile vinyl with faithfully replicated original album art.
‘John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band’ is the debut solo studio album by John Lennon. It was first released in 1970, after Lennon had issued three experimental albums with Yoko Ono and Live Peace in Toronto 1969, a live performance in Toronto credited to the Plastic Ono Band.
The album was recorded simultaneously with Ono’s debut avant garde solo album, Yoko Ono/Plastic Ono Band, at Ascot Sound Studios and Abbey Road Studios using the same musicians and production team, and featured nearly identical cover artwork.
John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band is generally considered one of Lennon’s finest solo albums.
The albums were remastered from their original analogue masters in 2010, by Yoko Ono and a team of engineers led by Allan Rouse at Abbey Road Studios in London and by George Marino at Avatar Studios in New York. These LP’s have been newly cut to vinyl from those 96k digital files for Lennon, cut by Sean Magee at Abbey Road Studios and manufactured for the world by Optimal Media in Germany.
Each of the LPs is an authentic reproduction of its U.K. original, in its sound and visual presentation.
