Il Viaggio (Vinyl)
Il Viaggio, the Italian for “the journey,” is the title of the album by Melanie De Biasio, and we are in her debt: we already owe her four magnificent works (A Stomach Is Burning, No Deal, Blackened Cities and Lilies), an album of remixes produced by Gilles Peterson, and over 200 dates across the world.
Recorded partly in the Italy of her ancestors and in her native Belgium, and conceived as a voyage in sound, Il Viaggio represents a quest for musical renewal, and Melanie De Biasio, having taken this journey to reinvent herself, now extends an invitation for us to join her in a serenity that is exalting.
