Essential Max Merritt & The Meteors, The (Reissue)
A star in New Zealand in the late 1950’s, Max Merritt (and the Meteors) crossed the Tasman in 1964 and immediately toured with the Rolling Stones and the Searchers.
Possessing a fine gravelly voice, Max adds credibility to everything he sings and is arguably the finest exponent of soul music we have had in this country.
These are the two essential soul albums recorded for RCA in 1969 – 70 and contains the bands big hits ‘Western Union Man’ and ‘Good Feelin’ and a version of a later hit ‘Let it Slide’
