‘Defenders of the Faith’ is Judas Priest’s ninth studio album, first released on 4 January 1984. Three tracks were released as singles, “Freewheel Burning”, “Some Heads Are Gonna Roll” and “Love Bites”. The album was an immediate success, only going one spot below ‘Screaming For Vengeance’ on the US Billboard 100 Albums Chart, and would mark the apex of Judas Priest’s commercial success.
‘Defenders of the Faith’ contains a remarkably high percentage of hidden gems waiting to be unearthed, making it possibly the most underrated record in Priest’s catalogue.
