Dash, The (Vinyl)
Bertie Blackman’s bold 5th album ‘The Dash’ is an album of new inspirations, full of a new approach. Wanting to connect with a more positive spirit and to “have fun” Bertie not only explored more pop sounds and big hooks, but also enlisted a full ensemble of co-writers, a 30 -odd list of names that included the likes of Julian Hamilton (The Presets), Louis Schoorl (Daniel Johns, 360, Jessica Mauboy), and John Castle (Megan Washington, Josh Pyke, Vance Joy).
The album features first single “Run For Your Life” which has been getting great support from Triple J, “Kingdom of Alone” Single 2 which will have your heart aching, plus 7 other pop gems.
As Bertie says “I think people will be able to hear that I’m having fun making this record,” she says. “You should be able to go out and dance to it. Have a little cry maybe to one of the songs. It’s just about letting go – something that I struggle with sometimes. Go and have fun with it, experience life to it in the moment.”
