Come And See
‘Come And See’ is the debut album from Dublin 5 piece band Gurriers. A raging combination of punk, noise, alt-rock and shoegaze coupled with Dan Hoff’s intense socio-political lyricism the album features their 4 self-released singles, ‘Nausea’, ‘Sign Of The Times’, a new recording of their Feb 2023 debut ‘Approachable’ and the recent BBC 6 Music A Listed heavy psych-punk groove ‘Des Goblin’.
Besides the near 50 plays for the last single on 6Music Gurriers have also featured heavily on Radio 1’s evening shows with Des Goblin receiving Jack Saunders Future Artists ‘Tune Of the Week’ along with multiple plays from Nels Hylton plus Radio X X-posure and Amazing Radio playlists. In Australia, they’ve received spins across RRR FM and 4ZZZ.
The band are regularly added to Apple Music’s Matt Wilkinson, New In Punk and Negative Space playlists whilst on Spotify – All New Punk, The Punk List, Melomania, Shockwave and third party playlists such as Rough Trade Counter Culture, DIY’s Neu Tracks, Line Of Best Fit, DMY and many more including a stack of Festival playlists. The band have had features in The Irish Sunday Times ‘Irelands next big thing’ as well as Hot Press and featured in the US Spin Magazine’s feature on ‘Irish new angry bands’. . The band’s debut single ‘Approachable’ also received a great review in The Needle Drop from Anthony Fantano.
They’ve received glowing live reviews in the UK from NME at 2024’s Simple Things Festival ‘a commanding highlight of the day’ and Louder Than War “One last show of sheer elemental, Argonaut-like force to mention: Gurriers in the Spiegelzelt on Friday. Be warned”
Playing live is when the incendiary magic happens with Gurriers. Cutting their teeth supporting acts like Enola Gay and Goat Girl, their reputation and growing notoriety live saw them booked on to a string of festival bills in 2022 including SWN (UK), Mad Cool (ES), Reeperbahn (DE) plus Into The Great Wide Open, Left Of The Dial, Bruis and London Calling (all NL).
They released their first music in 2023 and things intensified with a stack of UK and Netherlands club shows along with a Summer full of festivals including The Great Escape, 2000 Trees & Latitude (UK), Electric Picnic (IE), Loose Ends & London Calling again (NL), Haldern Pop & Obstwiesenfestival (DE), Pukkelpop (BE), Off (PL) and Hop Pop Hop (FR) among others and in the last two years the band have played over 80 shows. More recently they have played the Pitchfork Music Festival’s in London and Paris, Simple Things Festival in Bristol and Other Voices in Dingle among others.
