Bright Magic (Vinyl)
Public Service Broadcasting have returned and their new album, “Bright Magic”, in tow. “Bright Magic” is about a lot of things but primarily it is about the city of Berlin as a magnet for creative people and creativity. The album was written and recorded entirely at Hansa Studios, in Berlin, where the band resided for the 6 month.
Hansa is world renowned and the studio responsible for such classic albums including but not limited to ‘Low’ and ‘Heroes’ by David Bowie, ‘The Idiot‘ and ‘Lust For Life’ by Iggy Pop and many more.
Along with recording in Berlin the artwork is designed by Berlin artist Torsten Posselt who has a long relationship with the Erased Tapes label.
Public Service Broadcasting are a London based trio led by the corduroyed and bow-tied frontman J. Willgoose Esq along with bassist J F Abraham and drummer Wrigglesworth. Whilst the band’s earlier work featured the distinctive voices of public service announcements from days gone by, 2017’s “Every Valley” moved more towards storytelling , featuring archive interviews with various people involved in the coal mining industry in South Wales; A form the “Bright Magic” continues
