Mercurial Melbourne artist Zak Olsen, the creative behind ORB, Frowning Clouds and Hierophants returns under his Traffik Island moniker for latest album, A Shrug of the Shoulders, out on Flightless Records.
Within the space of three records, Olsen has taken the Traffik Island project through a montage of bright and groovy twee-pop, squirrely 60’s-like delirium and low-watt hip-hop collages. On his newest effort, Traffik Island reinstates his extravagant hybrid of Syd Barrett-esque sugar-rushed-psychedelia and cheeky, soft-focus piano blues.
