Rob Grant is an accidental recording artist. He has never had a lesson on any instrument in his life. No kind of formal musical training at all. He can’t read sheet music.
But when he sits down at a piano, something magical happens. Notes flow from him. Emotion overwhelms thought, and out pours composition after composition, piece after piece.
So, in spring 2022, when his daughter Lana del Rey was in LA’s Henson Studios with Jack Antonoff, working on her upcoming ninth album, Grant got to it. After several months of recording, and teaming up with Australian producer Luke Howard, Rob now presents his debut album with Decca Records – a collection of 14 stunning and introspective original piano pieces, including two duets with his daughter Lana.
