The ever-evolving story of Kingswood births a new chapter with the release of their long-awaited new studio album, ‘Home’.
Having teased the record in recent months with dynamic singles including ‘Good Whiskey’, ‘Burning Holes’ and ‘One Too Many Times’, Kingswood set it up early that this album would feature the band’s most cohesive and representative material to date.
Incorporating myriad sonic influences and a reinvigorated approach to their musicianship, ‘Home’ is more than just another step forward for the ARIA and APRA nominated group – it is a realisation of the last few years of tireless work and exploration of new sounds.
Recorded on a ranch in Wongawallan, QLD at Fallguy Studios, ‘Home’ saw Kingswood work with Nashville based engineer Eddie Spear (Zach Bryan, Chris Stapleton, Brandi Carlisle) on final mixing and mastering; putting the final touches on this musically rich 12-track body of work.
The elevation of the band’s sound – from the Microscopic Wars era through to After Hours, Close To Dawn and more recently, Juveniles – threads beautifully throughout ‘Home’. Tales of sorrow meet stories of late night recklessness. An undistilled passion springs forth from this record; whether it’s in the sonic builds of tracks like ‘Mother Did Say’ and ‘Movin’ On’, or the way emotional nuance strikes on ‘God & Gun’ and ‘Riches’.
Kingswood retained the grit without losing the heart of the music with ‘Home’; for the band, this was a record that was a necessity for them to make.
