A Kingswood Christmas is Kingswood’s THIRD album of 2020 and we’re going to say they’ve saved the best ’til last.
While it’s a fun record that certainly will raise a smile, it’s not a novelty.
It’s a loving tribute to Christmas albums of the past, probably closest to Vince Guaraldi’s A Charlie Brown Christmas in spirit and style.
Kingswood are best known for their rock work, but this year’s Reveries album was an indication they are more than adept at working with intimate and sumptuous arrangements too.
They continue down that path with A Kingswood Christmas; jazzy pianos, brushed drums and crazy horns marry with Fergus’ crooning swing to make an album for all the family.
