Diluvia
After two years and over a dozen tours with the likes of The Naked and Famous, Tokyo Police Club and Shout Out Loud, Queens-based quintet Freelance Whales release their second full-length album Diluvia.
Recorded over two months in New York City with producer Shane Stoneback, Diluvia sees the band exploring new instrumental experiences by blurring their trademark ‘organic’ instruments with liberal use of electronics and more aggressive rhythm.
Favouring intimate orchestral compositions that still somehow feel organic, the effect is a diverse and unpretentious album that proves the band hasn’t drifted far from their modest roots as New York City buskers.
