Foy Vance and his splendid moustache have been knocking about for a while, but there was an extra buzz back in November 2015 after he signed to Ed Sheeran’s new label Gingerbread Man records.
Vance and Sheeran are long-term friends who collaborated on their most recent albums; Sheeran sang on Vance’s single “Guiding Light” from 2013’s ‘Joy Of Nothing,’ while Vance co-wrote “Tenerife Sea” and “Afire Love” from Sheeran’s ‘X.’
The man knows how to write a song. It’s a naturally-born but dedicatedly-finessed skill that has led him to collaborate with artists as diverse as Plan B, Sheryl Crow and Rudimental, synced his music on multiple TV shows ranging from Grey’s Anatomy to the finale of Sons Of Anarchy, and caught the ears of some of the biggest players (in every sense) in music, from Elton John to Ed Sheeran.
Deeply soulful, passionate and brutally honest about love gone wrong, Foy Vance’s third album ‘The Wild Swan’ is executive produced by Sir Elton John and produced by Jacquire King, who has worked on records by Tom Waits, Modest Mouse, Kings of Leon, James Bay and more.
