Lee Morgan’s magnum opus, The Sidewinder, was a coronation.
The prodigious trumpeter debuted on Blue Note in 1956 at the age of 18, but personal problems in the early `60s forced him off the scene temporarily. His rebound recording was an assured, energetic set with Joe Henderson (tenor sax), Barry Harris (piano), Bob Cranshaw (bass), and Billy Higgins (drums).
Blue Note Classic Vinyl Series is all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes, and pressed on 180-gram vinyl.
